FLT / Lead Machine Operator

Permanent Position

£11 - £11.50 Per hour + O/T @ x 1.5

Have you worked in a manufacturing environment before where attention to detail is important? Would you like to be part of a brand new project to manufacture a brand new product for an expanding company based 25 minutes from Yeovil, 20 minutes from Wincanton? It offers great pay, enhanced overtime rates (x1.5) and the opportunity to be part of a new project at a company that is doing really well.

Smart Recruitment are seeking a reliable, motivated and switched on person to take ownership of a brand new manufacturing process. You will be working to KPIs, ensuring that product is loaded and unloaded into various processing machines, ensuring the quality of the product is maintained at each point. You will spend approx. 70% of your working day operating a counterbalance forklift truck, so you need to have a great level of Health and safety awareness – an H&S qualification of any sort would be a real bonus. FLT Licence is preferred, but for the right person the company would fund this qualification.

You will join the company before the process is fully set up and running, so you will have a chance to be part of the team that sets the area up and decides how everything will be run – you will be responsible for running the process once fully set up so your input will be valued!! Being a team player who can get along with others is critical working at a company with approx. 20 staff.

You will need to complete paperwork at various stages, so a good level of English and Mathematics  is preferred (C - Grade GCSE or equivalent as a minimum)

Hours of work are 07.30 – 16.30 Monday to Friday, with an expectation of increased hours Feb – May each year due to seasonality.
