Finance Assistant

Salary: up to £25k pa Plus Great benefits

Full time, 37.5 hours per week

Are you a Finance Assistant with manufacturing or practice experience? Do you have great IT experience and lively and bubbly personality? We have a brand new job available at an award winning international manufacturing company that supplies to over 90 different countries across the globe. They are leaders in their niche field, and have their head office operation in the beautiful South Somerset countryside. We are seeking to appoint a new member of staff to join their busy finance team of 5 – you will need to be flexible in your approach to finance duties because everyone mucks in together.

The role is responsible for the following:

  • (25% of your week)
  • Controlling rebate scheme for 12 buying groups and numerous individual customers, includes liaising with Sales Managers and Sales Admin staff – you will need to calculate agreed rebates to raise, and pay circa 150 quarterly self-billing invoices which need to be imported into the nominal ledger.
  • (75% of your week)
  • Importing credit card & expenses journals received from the centralised expense processing centre.
  • Reconciling wholesale customer accounts for various discounts and raising of credit notes.
  • Assisting with various accounting tasks including journals and month-end tasks.

Experience & skills you will need to have:

  • Highly numerate and experienced in processing accounting journals.
  • Previous experience working within a finance department.
  • Time management skills and ability to prioritise competing demands, whilst maintaining high levels of attention to detail.
  • Good knowledge of Excel is essential
  • You must be IT literate – MRP/ERP system experience preferred
