Smart Recruitment have an amazing new opportunity as a Supply Chain Manager with a company that have grown consistently over the last few years. They want an ambitious person who gets their culture, their way of working, and can add value to their team. The successful candidate will lead procurement activities including procurement, buying functions, production planning and sales administration. This person will be responsible for improving the company’s responsiveness, efficiency, and resource use, with the overall goal of increasing revenue by improving the service offered to the company’s clients

Key Responsibilities:
• Implementing processing policies for Sales Orders, Purchase Orders and Works Orders to maximise the use of MRP while maintaining inventory levels accordingly
• Negotiate and manage prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, freight forwarders
• Work closely with the Design and Sales teams to introduce the best suppliers at the earliest opportunity in the design of company products and at the bid stage to reduce risk to the client thereby enhancing the company’s competitiveness
• Implement and monitor supplier long term agreements.
• Ensure appropriate flow down of customer T&C’s to reduce business risk.
• Ensure that sustainability is maximised throughout the procurement process.

• On Time Delivery: 95% (Quarterly improvements required to achieve 99%)
• Cost Savings 3% against budgeted spend
• Contract Review Response: 1day for runner/repeaters & 3days for strangers
• Target 60days minimum payment terms
• Inventory Turnover x6
• MRP Performance 98%

Experience and Skills Required

• Minimum GCSE English and Maths Grade C or above, ideally A Level with relevant qualifications. Professional Procurement qualifications are desirable.
• You must be computer literate in MS Office with the ability to understand and interrogate ERP/MRP systems.
• At least 3 years or more previous supply chain management experience gained within a low/medium volume manufacturing environment, along with proven success in improving supplier performance and achieving year on year cost savings
• Must be able to identify areas for improvement in the supply chain and use of suppliers to ensure that new ideas are developed, documented and implemented to agreed standards.
• Excellent commercial and negotiation acumen, practical experience of managing varied procurement operations and the ability to build good supplier relationships.
